WELCOME TO XULAVA!

Xavier University of Louisiana Vietnamese Association (XULAVA) is a student organization at Xavier University of Louisiana dedicated to our student members and the Vietnamese community. This organization was established as a Vietnamese Student Associations (VSA) until we accepted our membership into the Union of Vietnamese Student Associations - Gulf Coast region (UVSA-GC) in 2014. As part of UVSA-GC, XULAVA works alongside with other universities from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama to create a strong network and community for our members.

XULAVA focuses on the professional development, cultural preservation, and philanthropy. The organization provides an atmosphere for our members’ professional and personal development to prosper in order to prepare them for their prospective professional careers. While we focus on professional development, XULAVA holds its original roots to preserve the Vietnamese culture and heritage as a Vietnamese Student Association (VSA) through our cultural events during the fall and spring semester. As students of Xavier University of Louisiana, our organization upholds our university’s mission statement to promote a just and humane society. To achieve this, XULAVA is dedicated in helping to build a better world one step at a time through our Collective Philanthropy Project. Each year, all the VSAs across the North American continent send representatives from each region to attend an annual leadership conference hosted by the Union of North American Vietnamese Student Association (UNAVSA) to vote for the new beneficiary for the upcoming Collective Philanthropy Project. We are proud to take part of this project as an organization, in which we have fundraised money for previous beneficiaries such as "Project Backpack: Catalyst Foundation" (2016-2017) and "Kids Without Borders" (2015-2016).
